Ride the metrocable up to the cloud forest of Santa Elena: trails, silleteros and pure air 30 minutes from downtown. The cable ride is already half the experience.

Few cities have a cloud forest connected to the metro. Parque Arví, above Santa Elena, is Medellín's lung: trails among eucalyptus, a farmers' market at the cable arrival and the silletero culture declared heritage.
We ride metrocable lines K and L — the view over the city and then over the forest is unforgettable — and walk an easy trail chatting in Spanish. Bring a jacket: it gets several degrees cooler up there.
