Our Spanish program, levels A1 to C1 on the CEFR scale, is registered under Resolution 005093 of July 23, 2024, issued by the Secretaría de Educación Municipal de Pereira, and the school is listed in SIET, the Ministry of Education’s public registry. In practice, your levels are measured against an international standard that universities and employers recognize.

The method is conversation first. You do not study Spanish the way you studied algebra: you use the language, get corrected and use it again, in class and then on La 70 an hour later. Grammar shows up in service of what you want to say, and your teacher notices when your past tense slips, because noticing is their job.

Group classes, private classes or live online

Most students in Medellín choose group classes, small and level-matched, scheduled so that a serious program still fits around a job or a trip. Private classes give you a timetable built around you and a teacher who works only on what you need, whether that is a job interview or the subjunctive. Live online classes run with the same teachers and the same method, useful for travel weeks or for starting from home before you land in Colombia. Private and online classes can be moved or cancelled with 24 hours’ notice.

Life around campus: why students pick Laureles

Class ends and the classroom does not. Walk five minutes and you are having your afternoon coffee with half the neighborhood; walk ten and you are in the middle of football, salsa and street food, the best free listening practice in Medellín. A few minutes on foot from the school:

Coming on a student visa?

As a licensed school we issue your carta de aceptación and guide you through the process, and the Visa Program carries the study load the visa expects: 40 hours of classes per month, for one to fifteen months, with attendance tracked and a certificate for every level you complete.
