Moving abroad is a bigger change for a child than for an adult: new school, new friends, new routines. Spanish is what lets them join in. Our kids track teaches through games, songs and stories, so your child stops translating the new country and starts belonging to it.
Built for kids, not shrunk from adult classes
A ten-year-old does not learn like an adult and should not be taught like one. Our kids curriculum, from age 10, is its own program: short activity cycles with movement, games, songs and stories, and themes from a child’s world (family, pets, school, birthdays). The goal is the same as for our adult students, speaking in class from the first week; the path there looks a lot more like play.

A safe, structured place to learn
We are a licensed ETDH school (Secretaría de Educación de Pereira), not an improvised academy: trained teachers, a registered program and real supervision. Minors enroll through a parent or guardian, and you always know what your child is working on and how they are progressing. Classes take place at our three campuses, Medellín Laureles (Carrera 76 #41-07), Medellín Belén (Cl. 32F #74B-136) and Pereira (Carrera 11B #1A-40, La Rebeca), or live online from home. Many families pair the kids’ classes with an adult program at the same school, on compatible schedules.
What a kids class looks like
- A warm-up game that recycles last class’s words, repetition without boredom.
- A theme from their world: pets, sports, food, birthdays, the neighborhood.
- Speaking in pairs or with the teacher, so every child talks in every class.
- A story, song or mini-project that sends them home wanting to come back.
Levels run from A1 to B1 for young learners, and each stage builds usable Spanish: introducing themselves, making friends at the park, following the school day, telling you about their day in Spanish without being asked, which is the moment most parents remember.
From surviving school to belonging
If your child attends a local or bilingual school in Colombia, Spanish class is the difference between following the day and enduring it: understanding the teacher, joining the joke at recess. If you are still planning the move, starting online before you land means they arrive with words already in their pocket, and the first week of school stops being a wall. Timing is flexible on purpose: classes run Monday to Friday, with Saturday mornings in Laureles and Pereira, so lessons fit after school, on a Saturday morning, or online from home on the days when getting to the campus is one errand too many.

Spanish for kids: frequently asked questions
From what age can my child join?
From age 10. The program is designed for the attention span and interests of kids from 10 up, with shorter activities and themes they care about, so younger siblings will have to wait a little before they join.
Private or group classes: which is better for my child?
Shy or beginner kids often start private and join a small group once they feel confident; sociable kids usually enjoy the group right away and learn a lot from hearing other children speak. We recommend one option after meeting your child, and you can change later.
Do parents need to stay during class?
Minors enroll through a parent or guardian, and you are always welcome at the school. Whether you stay during class is up to you; many parents use that time for their own Spanish class at the same campus, and others come back at the end.
Can my child take classes online?
Yes. Live online classes with the same teachers work well, especially to keep momentum when the family travels or before you move. Most families mix in-person and online classes, and private or online classes can be moved with 24 hours of notice.
How do I know my child is progressing?
The program follows real CEFR levels from A1 to B1 with continuous follow-up, and teachers keep you posted on what your child is working on and where they need more time. The most reliable sign shows up on its own: Spanish appearing at the dinner table.
Does my child need any Spanish to start?
No. Most children start from zero and the first classes are built for that: greetings, names, colors and simple questions, all through games. If your child already picked up some Spanish at school, a short conversation with the teacher places them at the right point of the program.
