DELE exam preparation in Colombia
Prepare the DELE with native teachers at a licensed school in Medellín and Pereira — mock exams, all four skills, and a plan built around your target level.
You can speak decent Spanish and still fail the DELE. It is not a conversation — it is a timed, formatted exam with its own rules, and the people who pass are the ones who trained for the exam itself. Our DELE preparation track does exactly that: native teachers, real mock exams, and a level-by-level plan from B1 to C1.
What the DELE actually is
The DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) is the official Spanish certificate issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of Spain. It is recognized internationally by universities, employers and immigration authorities — and unlike most language certificates, it never expires. You sit the exam for one specific CEFR level (from A1 up to C2), and you either pass that level or you do not.
That last part matters: the DELE does not tell you your level, it tests the level you chose. Register above your real level and you lose the fee and months of motivation. Register below it and you buy a certificate that undersells you. The first thing we do together is get that decision right.

Why prepare with native teachers at a licensed school
Mister Fox Spanish School is a government-licensed ETDH institution with a Spanish program officially registered from A1 to C1 on the CEFR scale — the same scale the DELE uses. Your preparation is not a YouTube playlist: it is a structured program taught by native Spanish speakers who know what the examiners reward, and what they punish.
- Native teachers trained on the DELE format, task by task.
- A curriculum aligned with the same CEFR levels the exam certifies.
- Small groups or one-to-one — your preparation, your pace.
- In person in Medellín (Laureles) or Pereira (La Rebeca), or live online.
The method: train all four skills like the exam does
The DELE grades four separate skills — reading, listening, writing and speaking — and a weak one can sink the whole exam. Most self-taught candidates over-train reading (comfortable) and under-train speaking and timed writing (uncomfortable). Our preparation forces the balance back.
- Diagnostic: a full mock exam locates your real starting point, skill by skill.
- Targeted training: each week attacks the tasks where you lose the most points.
- Timed writing practice with correction — structure, connectors, register.
- Speaking simulations that reproduce the real oral exam, examiner and clock included.
- Final mock exams under exam conditions, until the format holds no surprises.
The DELE does not reward the best Spanish speaker in the room. It rewards the best-prepared candidate.
Prepare from Medellín, Pereira — or anywhere
You can prepare in person at our schools in Medellín (Carrera 76 #41-07, Laureles) and Pereira (Carrera 11B #1A-40, La Rebeca), or live online with the same teachers and the same method. Classes run Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., so the exam prep fits around your life — not the other way around.
Already living here on a student visa, or planning to? DELE preparation combines naturally with our regular Spanish program: you study the language, live it on the street, and walk into the exam with months of full immersion behind you.
DELE preparation — frequently asked questions
Which DELE levels do you prepare?
We focus on B1, B2 and C1 — the levels most often required by universities, employers and citizenship procedures. If you are not sure which one to target, start with our free level test and we will recommend honestly.
Do you administer the DELE exam itself?
No. The exam is administered by Instituto Cervantes accredited exam centers, on official dates. We prepare you for it — and we help you understand the registration calendar so you pick a realistic date.
How long does DELE preparation take?
It depends on the gap between your current level and your target level, and that is exactly what the diagnostic mock exam measures. We will give you a realistic estimate after it — never a one-size-fits-all promise.
Can I prepare online?
Yes. Our online classes are live, with the same native teachers — including timed writing correction and oral exam simulations by video. Many candidates mix in-person and online weeks.
Is the DELE valid forever?
Yes — DELE diplomas do not expire, which is why it is one of the best long-term investments you can make in your Spanish.
