Our Belén campus is at Cl. 32F #74B-136, in one of Medellín’s most traditional neighborhoods. Belén is the city’s friendly southwest: a big barrio of low houses, corner shops and parks where half the neighborhood crosses paths on a Sunday, and where a regular gets greeted by name within a week. It is a short ride from Laureles and a world away from the tourist circuit.

For a language student, that geography is the whole point. In El Poblado you can spend a month without needing a word of Spanish; in Belén you need it before lunch, kindly, patiently and constantly. Every bakery order, every bus and every neighborly hello is a rehearsal for class, and every class makes the next errand easier.

A licensed school, not an improvised academy

Mister Fox Spanish School is a licensed ETDH institution (Resolution 6784 of 2022). Our Spanish program, levels A1 to C1 on the CEFR scale, is registered under Resolution 005093 of July 23, 2024, issued by the Secretaría de Educación Municipal de Pereira, and the school is listed in SIET, the Ministry of Education’s public registry. Belén teaches the same program, registered in Pereira, so your levels are measured against the same international standard at every campus. You receive an official certificate for every level you complete, and if you need a student visa, the acceptance letter comes from the school itself rather than from an agency reselling paperwork.

Group classes, private classes or live online

The programs at Belén are the same as at every Mister Fox campus. Most students choose group classes, level-matched and conversation first: you use the language, get corrected and use it again, in class and then in the barrio an hour later. Private classes give you a timetable built around you and a teacher who works only on what you need, whether that is a job interview or the subjunctive. Live online classes run with the same teachers and the same method, useful for travel weeks or for starting from home before you land in Colombia. Private and online classes can be moved or cancelled with 24 hours’ notice.

Life around campus: why Belén grows on people

Belén does not perform for visitors; it goes about its day, which is what makes it a good classroom. Mornings belong to the bakeries and the market stalls, afternoons to coffee around the parque, evenings to families on the sidewalk and football on the corner television. Nobody switches to English for you, and after a few weeks you stop wanting them to. A few minutes on foot from the school:

• The parque de Belén and its church, the neighborhood’s meeting point and its afternoon coffee spot.
• The Parque Biblioteca de Belén: reading rooms, free events and homework territory.
• Bakeries that pull warm pandebonos out of the oven mid-morning.

Coming on a student visa? Belén works for that too

Many long-stay students, six months, a year or more, study with us on Colombia’s type V student visa. As a licensed school we issue your carta de aceptación and guide you through the process, and the Visa Program carries the study load the visa expects: 40 hours of classes per month, for one to fifteen months, with attendance tracked and a certificate for every level you complete.
