Español B1: Give Opinions and Handle Real Life
Español B1 is the third level of our Spanish program and the one where Spanish starts to feel like yours. You learn the conditional and the present subjunctive, the tools to say what you want, feel, doubt and think.
What you will be able to do
- Deal with most situations that come up while living or traveling in Colombia.
- Describe experiences and events, and talk about your hopes and ambitions.
- Give reasons for your opinions, and agree or disagree politely.
- Follow the main points of clear conversations about work, studies and free time.
- Write simple connected texts about topics you know.
The course opens with a review of the past tenses, then the simple and compound conditional. Most of the level is the present subjunctive in its everyday uses: wishes, emotions, complaints, doubts, suggestions, opinions, permissions, goals, purpose and intentions, plus the subjunctive after time expressions like cuando. A final unit reviews object pronouns.
