Español B2: Speak With Ease and Precision
Español B2 is the fourth level of our Spanish program. You already handle daily life in Spanish; B2 gives you the grammar of nuance, so you can talk about hypothetical situations, report what others said and defend a point of view.
What you will be able to do
- Follow the main ideas of complex conversations and texts, on concrete and abstract topics.
- Talk with native speakers with enough fluency that neither side has to make an effort.
- Explain your point of view on a current issue, with its advantages and disadvantages.
- Talk about hypothetical situations with conditional sentences.
- Report what other people said, asked or recommended.
The course centers on the imperfect subjunctive, its irregular forms and its uses, then the present perfect and pluperfect subjunctive. You study the three types of conditional sentences, contrast the subjunctive tenses, and practice object pronouns, reported speech and the future perfect.
