The application is filed online with the Colombian authorities. Around the acceptance letter you assemble a valid passport, recent bank statements, photos and apostilled documents where the file requires them. France recently reorganized which authority issues apostilles, so check the current one before you apply. Documents not in Spanish need an official translation.

Do French citizens need a visa for Colombia?
Not for a short stay: French passport holders receive an entry permit at the airport on arrival, normally 90 days, extendable to 180 within the same calendar year. The extension is a separate request to Migración Colombia, made before the first permit ends. For a stay built around study beyond that, the type V student visa applies.
How do I get the acceptance letter from France?
Entirely online: we issue it as soon as your Visa Program is reserved, as a PDF with a verification QR code you attach to your application, with no consulate appointment involved. The letter states the program, its dates and hours, and the school’s registration details.
Is Spanish easier for French speakers?
Noticeably, at the start: shared Latin roots and familiar grammar speed up the early levels. The plateau comes from coasting on similarity, which is what a structured CEFR program with real class hours prevents. Shared vocabulary also hides false friends.
Can I start classes before the visa decision?
