Entering Colombia with a German passport
Frankfurt and Munich connect to Bogotá on direct or one-stop routes. Airlines usually ask for proof of onward travel at check-in, so keep a return or exit ticket at hand.
Structure, levels and certificates
If you learned English through school levels and exams, our system will feel familiar: each level closes with an evaluation, and attendance is tracked, which is what a student visa presumes. Groups have five students at most, a class hour lasts 55 minutes and the timetable is fixed for the month, so your study load is easy to show. Each completed level comes with a certificate, and the level test on our site places you before the first class.

German documents and the apostille map
Identify the right office for each paper and collect the apostilles before you fly, with official Spanish translations where needed. Civil documents, court documents and federal documents do not go to the same office: a Führungszeugnis from the Bundesamt für Justiz receives its apostille from the Bundesverwaltungsamt, while a birth certificate goes through the authority of the Land that issued it. The application itself is filed online with the Colombian authorities, with a clean PDF scan of each document.

Do German citizens need a visa to enter Colombia?
Not for short stays: Germans receive an entry permit on arrival, normally 90 days, extendable to 180 within the calendar year. The extension is a separate request to Migración Colombia, made before the first permit ends. A longer stay built around study is what the type V student visa is for.
Who issues apostilles for German documents?
It depends on the document: different authorities are competent for civil, judicial and federal documents, and it varies by Bundesland. Identify the right office per document and collect everything before leaving Germany, since ordering an apostille from Colombia means couriers and weeks of waiting. Translations into Spanish are done by an official translator.
Is the school officially recognized?
Yes: ETDH licence by Resolution 6784 of 2022, and the A1 to C1 Spanish program registered by Resolution 005093 of 2024 with the Secretaría de Educación de Pereira. We appear in SIET, the public registry of the Ministry of Education, and the letter you receive from us carries those details.
Do I get certificates for completed levels?
Yes, an official certificate at each completed level, backed by tracked attendance and evaluations, the same records that make your study load verifiable for visa purposes. The certificate states the level reached on the CEFR scale, which is the scale German employers and universities already read.
